INT -BASEMENT- DAY
JAKE
This is gonna be soo awesome ROSE
ROSE
Well you helped and LILLY gave me the idea.
JAKE
True but, you’ve done most of the work. Anyways let's call LILLY to tell her it's done.
ROSE
Ok I'll get my phone.
A few minutes after the call LILLY arrives on stage.
LILLY
Where is it? Where’s THE ROBOT?
JAKE
Come on, I'll show you.
JAKE uncovers THE ROBOT.
LILLY
Wow, it's so pretty.
ROSE
I'll turn it on.
ROSE pushes the button on the side of THE ROBOT.
THE ROBOT
What do you want?
ROSE
Could you get my phone from the shelf please?
THE ROBOT
No.
JAKE
Why not?
THE ROBOT
I don't want to.
The robot grabs the nearest person which is LILLY and leaves.
ROSE
No! THE ROBOT took LILLY and wont do what i say. Did I do something wrong?!
JAKE
No it probably wasn't you. It was probably me. I'm not as good at programming as you are so I might have made a mistake. (jake hangs his head and rubs neck)
ROSE
(rose groans) We’ll deal with that later but for now, we need to save LILLY.
JAKE
We can follow the sound of LILLY'S screaming.
Scene 2
ROSE
I hear her! This way! (rose and jack enter as rose speaks)
JACK and ROSE head to the side of the stage. THE ROBOT is on the other side of the stage with LILLY tied up.
LILLY
ROSE!! JACK! Over here!
ROBOT
Be quiet you!!
ROSE and JACK see LILLY and head toward her side of the stage.
ROSE
Please give LILLY back.
THE ROBOT
Why should I? She'll make the perfect servant.
ROSE
Because she won't obey you ever. No matter what you say.
While they are talking JAKE sneaks up and cuts LILLY’S ropes. He then works on sneaking to get to the button to turn THE ROBOT off
THE ROBOT
Why should I believe you?
ROSE
Because I made you.
THE ROBOT
Wait a minute. Where’s that boy that was with you?
The robot turns around and knocks JAKE to the ground.
THE ROBOT
And where’d that girl go?
He turns again and sees LILLY behind ROSE. While THE ROBOT’S back was turned, JAKE jumped on the robots back and quickly hit the off button.
LILLY
Yay!! Thank you guys for saving me.
ROSE
No problem but why wouldn't we have saved you? you're our friend and little sister.
JAKE
Yeah! But guys, what are we going to do with this?
JAKE kicked THE ROBOT.
ROSE
I have an idea.
Scene 3
Int - basement- night
LILLY and ROSE are sitting by the robot watching JAKE reprogram it.
JAKE
Why can't you reprogram it Rose?
ROSE
Because you made the mistake in its programming.
JAKE
Fine but when im done can you get me a drink or snack?
LILLY
Okay, i guess you deserve it
The children’s mom comes onstage and has cookies and milk on a tray for all three of them.
MOM
Look at my three little inventors. I figured you would want something to munch on.
LILLY
Thanks mom! Your cookies are the best!!
JAKE
Finally, I'm done! Oooh!!! Cookies!!
JAKE reached for one but MOM pulled the tray away.
MOM
Not yet mister. Ladies first.
ROSE and LILLY giggle
JAKE
But mom!
