In the morning, Cloud woke up with a scream finding Briar gone. This woke up Tinley who gasped and hugged Cloud to comfort her. They both then went outside, calling for her, then noticed Emma was gone as well. They searched all day, then cried themselves to sleep, worrying about their daughter.
Emma and Briar had meanwhile made a lot of progress, following Luna’s paw prints before they came to a place full of gummy bears. Briar coughed, giggled and walked up to a purple one, reaching out her hand. Emma followed, before walking up to a blue one with a cub. She happened to glance past them and saw the biggest of all. She gasped and called for Briar, who was playing with a pink cub nearby.
“What?” Briar sneezed before following Emma’s gaze and gasping.
Both girls knelt, feeling Luna’s Gaze on them both. They heard paw steps coming closer, and Briar gave a small whimper. All the gummy bears around them backed away as their leader came forward.
“Rise, you two.” came a majestic voice. Both girls rose and realized it had come from Luna.
“L-luna. W-we have c-come to ask for your help.” Emma stammered as Briar began coughing. She rushed over and felt Briar’s forehead. Why, it's much warmer than before! Emma gasped.
Briar muttered “Mom..” Before going limp in Emma's arms, her eyes closed. Emma almost screamed as she said “Please! Help us!”
Luna said nothing in response, only raising a paw. Beams of light seemed to tug on Briar and lift her upwards. Emma screamed as tears ran down her face, right as breathless, Cloud and Tinley rushed into the clearing. They shrieked as they saw their daughter surrounded by light high in the air, now eye level with Luna.
“There. It is done. “Luna said before gently lowering Briar into Cloud and Tinley’s arms.
“M-mom?” Briar said weakly as she opened her eyes.
“Briar!” Both women hugged Briar tightly as tears ran down their faces, “We are so sorry for being so protective! Well try to be less protective form now on”
“It's alright,” Briar forgave them.
“Come. all of you. I shall take you home” Luna announced before light surrounded all of them lifting them onto her back. She began trotting towards the palace, towards home.
