That night I fell asleep to the sound of Caeden’s snoring. He had requested a sleeping bag and insisted he sleep in the room with me as I got used to the hospital. He managed to smuggle my phone to me and I sat up late into the night watching the entire recording on the news of Titania becoming governor of Tennessee. I smiled softly, knowing I could finally return home and rest for a while before hopefully returning to the field. Assuming she doesn’t hire us as personal reporters or anything.

I woke to Caeden gently shaking me awake. I blink away the exhaustion from my eyes as I realize mom and dad are in the room. My mother, seeing I’m awake, rushes to me and wraps her arms around me. I sit there limp, surprised by the gesture as her brown hair falls around me. It takes a few minutes to realize she buried her head in my hair to hide the tears she was shedding. I awkwardly pat her back and she pulls away, wiping the last of her tears away. For the first time in a few years, I notice shes wearing sweat pants. The odd thing about it is that she's never worn pants any time I've seen her. She's always wearing dresses or skirts. I opened my mouth to say something but dad says something from where he stood by my brother.

"So, Lyn? Are you ready to go home?" He asked.

I stared at him, at a loss for words.

"H-home?" I managed to squeak out.

"Yep. Home. Doc 'agreed' to release you from the hospital. He said your legs are healed enough to walk." Caeden rolled his eyes as he said that, giving me the indication I would have stayed longer if not for mom and dad.

As he finished, the doctor wheeled in a wheelchair and everyone carefully helped me into. I was glad my legs did not look as if they had ever been crushed and I happily wiggled my toes as I was wheel out of the hospital towards mom and dads van. It looked exactly like our van, except bigger.

They lowered the bed that folded into the ceiling and managed to carefully place me into the bed.

"I call staying with Lyn" Caeden hollered and left onto the bed beside me producing a chuckle from me and my parents.

Before long, we arrived at our house. Despite doc saying I was on bed rest, I did a lot of things around the house because I couldn't keep still but my parents wouldn't let me leave the house. Despite nearly being killed a few times, this adventure was fun. Of course, almost dying won't stop me from going back outside to mess with some zombies once I'm allowed to. After all, I'm a Brayler, it's what we do. We bounce back.
